Greetings from Tokyo, Japan!

I spent a magical 24 hours in Tokyo, and as you read this, I am on my way to Bangkok, Thailand! I am taking the scenic route to Vietnam and Cambodia, where I am leading a food trip for the next 10 days.

We walked 9.5 miles and rode 7 trains with our guide, Hideki Mita, who we arranged with the Kimpton Hotel. We knew we would only have 24 hours, so we wanted to make the most of it, and a guide seemed like the best idea. We started near our hotel in Shinjuku, a district full of shops and restaurants, and hopped on the train to Shibuya Station, the busiest subway in the world, with 3.5 million people a year.

There they have a shrine to Hachiko. Hachiko was a real dog who lived in Tokyo
