Mall of America and Urban 29 (Season 3 Episode 8)

Jill Renslow,  executive vice president of business development and marketing for Mall of America, talks about how the Mall is serving Twin Cities businesses affected by the events of 2020,  including the Murder of George Floyd and the Coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to pivoting for their traditional holiday season, the Mall of America has created a space for Community Commons.  Community Commons serves as a temporary space for the exchange of goods and services for 16  businesses affected by the events of 2020.

Joyce Saunder's business, Urban 29,  burned down during the unrest in May. The Mall of America, by way of Community Commons, is helping her rebuild.

Shop from an assortment of neighborhood brands and join us in supporting passions and livelihoods as we rebuild our Twin Cities from within.

The 17 businesses that will open in Community Commons are:

  • Urban 29

  • 4 The Love

  • Art Piece Soul Gallery & Studio

  • Belle & Virtue Collection

  • Butters by Jay

  • Candy Colors

  • Captain Rebel

  • Dauren Worldwide

  • Ebony Gifts

  • Fabulous Diva Boutique

  • Herbal Alchemy

  • Heritage Tea & Beverages

  • La Michoacana Purepecha

  • Llakta

  • The Peach Eatery
